Evan's Dream Come True-at Wilson's 4th Birthday Party

Evan has been slightly into (or obsessed) with Peter Pan for about the last 2 years. He loves that Peter Pan fights the bad guy, Captain Hook, and that he is the kid who never wants to grow up. Poor Peter gets such a bad wrap from parents because they think he is "too gay", but he is really one of the greatest character. Who doesn't want to stay a kid forever? Peter Pan is what started Evan's fascination with dressing up and playing with characters. I swear if this kid doesn't become an actor one day, I will be shocked. Watching Peter Pan was the first time Evan started to "act out" movies. Meaning, that when there is a fight scene in any movie now, he will get a sword (and any dress up clothes that are appropriate for the scene) and fight the bad guys while watching the show. Although very into movies and TV, he is no couch potato. He hardly sits down, he just reinacts all the shows.

Well his good friend Wilson had his 4th birthday party at the Neverland Club at the Polynesian Resort at Disney World this past Saturday. It was all things Peter Pan, including Captain Hook himself. While about 80% of the kids were terrified of Captain Hook, Evan took advantage of the wonderful opportunity and challenged him to a duel.  Evan knew that CH would be there ahead of time, so we packed Evan's Peter Pan costume and sword. Once the Captain arrived, Evan quickly changed from his Jack Sparrow outfit and put on Peter Pan. He then fought and defeated the evil Captain Hook. I swear, this was the coolest party ever. I feel like I was watching Evan act out his dream as a child. It was too cool. Claire thought Captain Hook was pretty great too, after taking clues from her big brother.

The Neverland Club was really cool. It more dress up clothes than I could imagine (and we have A LOT!). So, for Evan, it was the perfect day. We hope Wilson had a great time, since it was his birthday.  I know that it's a day we'll never forget!
