Jimmy Buffet!

Last night, Joe & I went to see Jimmy Buffet in concert with our friends Rob & Alycia

We had so much fun! And now I think we all want to go to the beach ASAP and live in Key West!! It was a little weird being at a Jimmy Buffet concert inside (I mean where could all those people smoke pot?). But it was still a blast and the new Amway Center is really nice! Yeah for date nights :)

Rainbow Cupcakes

Claire is having a rainbow themed birthday party this year. I have been all over Pinterest trying to find great ideas. There is a rainbow cake out there, that looks amazing.

But I think we are going to have about 50+ people at her party, so I don't seem myself making this cake for that many people (excuses, excuses...that cake looks hard!)

So, I'm trying to come up with creative ways to make cupcakes that are rainbow. The obviously answer for me is to have Publix make them and have all the icing be the colors of the rainbow. There's a good chance we'll end up with that idea. But, I wanted to be more creative, so I came up with these rainbow cupcakes. Evan was all too eager to help (or...eat the batter). But he did do a great job helping me dye the batter.

How do these look? Is it worth all the effort for something you'll only see once you eat into them?

Claire's 1st Haircut

The time finally came! I did not want to cut Claire's hair. Although she had a curly mullet, it was just so sad to me to take her for her first haircut, but I wanted her to look cute for her 2nd birthday. So, she and I headed to the Magic Kingdom for her big day and I could not have been happier with how it went and the outcome.

 BEFORE
I am pretty sure she never knew she was getting her hair cut. She was so occupied by the stickers and spinning Minnie Mouse (her favorite!).
 ALL READY!
Cutting off 3 inches (kind of), the hair was in a V, so a lot was taken off the middle, very little or none, across the sides
All done with her Mickey ears that say 1st Haircut!
Checking herself out in the mirror
 Riding the carousel to celebrate!

It looks ADORABLE!! why did I wait so long?
In action with her new "bob"!

PigTails!

Claire's hair has gotten so long, that I thought I'd try out pigtails. She looked too cute in them.

Robert turns 10!

Clue #1 in the treasure hunt

Birthday Boy!

We helped Robert celebrate his 10th birthday at an amazing pirate themed birthday party. The kids had so much fun digging in the sand, going for a treasure hunt with very creative clues, breaking open the pinata, decorating their own cupcakes, eating lots of pirate food (especially the donuts!), and dressing up like little buccaneers!

Disney with the Parrishes

Our friends Colleen & Chris ran the Disney 1/2 marathon on January 7 and decided to make it a family trip to Florida! We've had a great time with Ella & Keegan, and even got to go to a character breakfast at Chef Mickey's on Sunday and Magic Kingdom on Monday. Here are a few of the highlights.

Arbor Day

On Thursday, Evan's class had their Arbor Day Field Trip in Downtown Windermere. There was a presentation by the Mayor and Garden Club and then the kids sang 6 songs about sunshine, trees and Windermere. It was too cute. Then they got to watch an arborist climb a giant tree, help plant a new tree and were then treated to lots and lots of cookies!
